On September 24, 2026, Dallas-based Island announced a $400 million Series F that values the company at $6.4 billion. The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners. The flagship product is not a classic antivirus: it is an enterprise browser —the same kind of Chrome- or Edge-style window people live in all day— built so the company can see and control what happens there.

El navegador empresarial deja ver y controlar lo que ocurre mientras el equipo colabora.

CEO and co-founder Mike Fey frames it as a special moment: old controls are breaking, and businesses are racing to defend against rogue artificial intelligence agents (programs that act on their own inside apps and data) and against the browser as a common door for stealing sensitive information, especially in hybrid work (office + home).

In practice, Island lets businesses monitor and control browser activity as people collaborate: which files are downloaded or uploaded, what gets copied and pasted, which extensions are installed, and how sessions are handled. For a small business that lives in SaaS tools, online banking, and CRM, that layer is starting to feel like what antivirus was in the desktop era.

Customers cited in CNBC coverage include Pfizer, Chipotle, American Airlines, and major banks. Island already ranked on CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list. With the new capital it plans to invest in research and development, expand into Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and grow from about 1,000 to about 1,500 employees by mid-2027.

Archivos, copiar/pegar, extensiones y sesiones: lo que muchas empresas quieren gobernar en el browser.

According to its announcement, the company has doubled annual recurring revenue every fiscal year since its 2022 launch and employs about 1,000 people. The takeaway for LatAm readers is simple: if your team spends almost the whole day in the browser —invoices, clients, payroll, chats with AI assistants— asking who controls that window is no longer a topic only for multinationals.

La ronda de Island apunta a proteger el lugar donde trabajan personas y agentes de IA.

You do not need to buy Island tomorrow. You do need basic policies: what can be pasted outside the company, which extensions are allowed, and how AI agents are used with customer data. Island’s round is a market signal: money is flowing to protect the place where work happens today.
