Google lanza laptops con Android: ya puedes apartarlas y llegan a tiendas el 4 de octubre

If you thought Android was only for phones, Google just moved the goalposts. Today it introduced Googlebooks: laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo that run Android on a big screen with a keyboard.

Preorders are open. Entry pricing starts around $899 — roughly a mid-to-high laptop in many stores. Prefer to see them in person? They hit stores on October 4 in the U.S., and the next day in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia.

What you get in practice: phone continuity — pick up what you started on mobile, cast apps to the laptop, and open phone files with less friction. They also include Gemini (Google’s assistant) and promise 10 years of updates. Purchase includes a year of Google AI Pro and a year of GeForce Now (cloud gaming).

Minimum memory is 16 GB (that’s the machine’s working space: more helps when you keep several apps open). Some models use Intel chips; others use Qualcomm.
